Yes. A refundable deposit is required for all metal detector rentals. This will be returned to your original payment method once the detector has been returned and inspected, provided it is in satisfactory condition.
We rent a range of metal detectors to suit different experience levels, from beginner-friendly turn-on-and-go models to more advanced detectors for experienced users.

Yes. All rental detectors are based at Regton Ltd in Birmingham. You’re very welcome to visit our showroom to view a detector before renting and to get advice from our experienced team.

Absolutely. Every rental metal detector is thoroughly checked and tested after each return. This includes:
- Coils and cables
- Control units and remotes (where applicable)
- Batteries and charging equipment
- Shafts and stems
Only detectors that meet our standards are made available for hire.
As long as the detector is in stock and not already out on hire, you can book as late as 2pm to ensure next working day delivery.
If there are any availability or technical issues, we’ll contact you as soon as possible. Our Birmingham store is open Monday to Friday, 9:30am–5:00pm.
Yes. If you need to keep the detector for longer, just contact us and we’ll extend the rental where possible, subject to availability.
Late returns are charged at the standard daily rental rate for up to 7 days after the agreed return date. After this period, the full retail value of the metal detector may be charged.
If a detector is returned damaged or requires professional cleaning, a reasonable charge will be made to cover repair or cleaning costs and taken from your deposit.
If the damage exceeds the value of the deposit, you may be required to pay up to the full retail value of the detector.
At present, we do not offer discounts for long-term rentals or multiple hires. All rental charges are based on standard pricing.
Each metal detector comes with a coil cover and headphones as standard. All rechargeable detectors include the necessary charging accessories.

No experience is required. We offer beginner-friendly metal detectors that are simple to set up and use.
If you’re collecting from our Birmingham store, our team will be happy to give you a quick walkthrough and basic advice before you head out.
Metal detectors can be used on beaches and on private land only with the landowner’s permission.
It is your responsibility to ensure you have the correct permissions and to follow all local laws and guidelines, including the Countryside Code and best practice for responsible detecting.
Yes, we can deliver rental metal detectors to most locations in the UK. Delivery costs may apply depending on location.
You’re also welcome to collect in person from our Birmingham store for a setup walkthrough and advice.
You will need to provide valid photo ID, such as a driving licence or passport. Proof of address may also be requested in some cases.
If the detector develops a fault through normal use, please contact us as soon as possible. We will assess the issue and, where possible, arrange a replacement or offer an appropriate solution.
